Undergraduate in Dentistry
I’m currently studying Dentistry at the University of Health Sciences – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, one of the best medical universities in Vietnam.
In my school, I’ve been learning about medicine and dentistry, from basic modules like Anatomy, and Physiology to major ones like Prosthodontics, Oral Surgery…For clinical skills, I can practice in the preclinical room and two big dental and maxillofacial hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City. I strive to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with beautiful skills and perfect accuracy.
Preclinical modules
For preclinical study, I learn and practice them in the preclinical room. From some basic modules like Dental Anatomy, Morphology to some tough ones like Prosthodontics or Pediatric Dentistry. These clinical sessions help me get used to the teeth, dental instruments and working skills while I study on humanoid models called phantom.
Clinical Modules
For clinical modules, in the first three years, I studied medical modules at Thu Duc Hospital and Thong Nhat Hospital. In the following years, I study my dentistry clinical sessions at Ho Chi Minh City Dental and Maxillofacial Hospital and the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology. These are the two biggest dental hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City.
Research experience
I was luckily chosen for a small team to do research about a dental pathology – Molar Incisor Hypomineralization. This is a great opportunity for me as I was just a 3rd-year student. After finishing this research, our team applied and reported it at the student forum of VIDEC 2022 (Vietnam International Dental Exhibition and Congress). We also reported on some other competitions like Eureka or the Youth Science and technology conference in the medical field XXI. We also have a plan to do another research about this problem in the near future with a bigger population.
Social activities
In the first few years, I join into a Social Work Club at my school. We held a lot of volunteer activities like blood donation, sex education, and charity gifts for particular people like children or old and poor people. Moreover, we also held some events for core team people like the traditional camp.
I’m also a volunteer at Operation Smile. It’s an organization that holds surgery programs for cleft lip and palate children. It’s very meaningful for me to be part of their programs, partly because through these programs I can help a lot of children in need, and on the other hand, I can learn more knowledge about surgery since cleft lip and palate also belong to the dentist specialty.
Film shooting
I begin to like film photography after seeing film images of my friend in high school. I love the color and the vibe that film cameras bring. So when I feel bored or when going on a trip, I often shoot one to two films to capture memorable moments in my life. I also have an Instagram page to post my favorite pics.
